Paul Biya gets sworn in as President of the Republic of Cameroon for another 7 year term.
The CPDM still rules in this country as it ran away with the past October elections. The opposition was defeated handily and their current display was worse than their showing 7 yrs ago.The current President's party got 79.2 percent of the votes. The closest competition came from SDF who get a mere 10.2 percent of the votes. That is down form the 17.8 percent that they got seven years ago.
This is the seventh time that Paul Biya is been sworned in as President of this country that is located in the Central part of Africa. His first sworn in was in 1982,the next one in 1984,then 1988,then 1992,then 1997,then 2004 and lastly 2011.There was not much noise generated from this particular swearing in ceremony.
According to Radio France International no sitting head of state showed up for the swearing in ceremony. No opposition candidate was around especially the runner-up Ni John Fru NDI.My guess would be that the people of Cameroon are just tired of the guy and would allow him to rule and die in office.A lot of noise has been made in terms of promises and everybody in the nation would be waiting for the country to be transformed into a work in progress as the President has promised.
